Poetry: Betrayal
How could you lie, your beguilement revealing
no appreciation for sensitivities
this consuming deception
a forbidden cultivation
How could you lie, your words are your treason
contention and betrayal
your only provision
are double-dealing hands
How could you lie, with no regard for treachery
wrangling words
with adulterated precision
even Judas is cordial when silver is plenty
How could you lie, a beguiled gaze
to shadow your merriment
treason hangs from your lips
while treachery devours your heart
